Claros Technologies raises $55 million to scale PFAS destruction technology
Claros Technologies closed a $55 million Series B on July 28, 2026, to scale PFAS destruction technology that reached over 99.99% removal in pilots.

Claros Technologies, a Minneapolis-based developer of PFAS destruction technology, announced on July 28, 2026, the close of a $55 million Series B financing round to accelerate global commercialization of its ClarosTechUV PFAS Destruction System. The round was led by Treehouse Family Capital LLC, with participation from Daikin America, Veralto, the Bush Foundation, Nord Asset Management and the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, alongside existing investors, according to the company’s press release.
PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are synthetic chemicals used since the 1950s in industrial and consumer products that resist environmental breakdown, earning them the label “forever chemicals.” Claros says its technology permanently destroys PFAS rather than merely capturing or transferring it, an approach the company positions against methods that concentrate the chemicals without eliminating them.
What the PFAS destruction technology funding will support
The financing will expand manufacturing capacity, fund additional commercial deployments across North America, Europe and Asia, and grow ClarosLabs, the company’s PFAS analytical testing division, the release states. Claros said the round builds on two field-validated milestones: in December 2025, working with investor Daikin America, the company destroyed more than 99.99 percent of long-, short- and ultra-short-chain PFAS compounds in one of the largest in-field industrial process water demonstrations to date; in April 2026, it repeated that destruction rate in a groundwater remediation project using concentrate derived from roughly one million gallons (3.8 million liters) of contaminated groundwater.

Michelle Bellanca, chief executive and co-founder of Claros, said the company has “crossed the threshold from breakthrough technology to successful commercial reality” over the past year. Jack Cogen, manager of Treehouse Family Capital, said Claros has “built an integrated platform that combines PFAS destruction with analytical services and is scaling commercially at exactly the right time.”
The financing arrives as regulators tighten PFAS rules on both sides of the Atlantic. In Europe, policymakers are advancing restrictions under the proposed REACH Regulation framework while weighing exemptions for essential uses. In the United States, federal and state agencies continue to expand drinking water standards and industrial discharge requirements, per the company’s release.
Claros’ PFAS destruction work sits alongside other approaches to removing contaminants from water supplies. Stanford researchers have developed resource-recovery resins that extract materials from wastewater, a separate line of research aimed at treating water streams for reuse rather than destroying a specific contaminant class.
